Raminder Kaur Bahra (Chair)

Raminder has an Education Degree, specialising in Mathematics and 4 years experience teaching at a high achieving private school. She is an active volunteer with school events and other projects and passionate about helping the school to develop and grow, to meet teaching and value-based goals and to fulfil its potential.

Amrik Singh Bhabra MBE (Vice Chair)

Amrik is the Chief Executive of Coventry-based firm ADECS. He has developed and grown the business over the past twenty-five years continuously changing and adapting in this ever-changing world in which we live. Amrik is passionate about helping young people develop to their full potential and actively supports this by providing apprenticeships at work, acting as a mentor to school-leavers and young business people, and encourages links between schools, businesses and industry in Coventry. Amrik is always keen to forge links between the community and business, and has a real drive to make a difference and ‘give back’ he supports many local charities and is an active fundraiser.

He was previously the Chair of Governors at Finham Primary school and is currently is a Trustee of the Finham Park Multi Academy Trust, Coventry University, the University of Wolverhampton. Heart of England Community Foundation Trust, Belgrade Theatre Trust, Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust, and the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire Charity.

Elizabeth Hoyt (Governor)

Elizabeth is a strategy consultant who works in fiscal policy advisory, with a special interest in sustainability and ESG initiatives. Previously she was a teacher and academic, having completed a PhD on forgiveness in Shakespeare and the Renaissance.

Elizabeth strongly believes that every child deserves the best primary education we can provide them with, as this is the foundation upon which the rest of their lives and opportunities will be built. She came to Nishkam with a desire to get involved in her local community by focusing on the children who are its future. She strongly believes in Nishkam’s virtues-based curriculum, and it’s potential to produce well-rounded, empathetic young people who will be a force for good in their communities.

Harbinder Kaur Flora (Governor)

Harbinder is a highly experienced secondary school teacher with extensive experience of middle-leadership and working with senior leaders. She has a particular interest in curriculum design and delivering the curriculum through creativity.  Harbinder is passionate about providing young people with the confidence, skills and opportunities to be life-long learners and compassionate citizens of the communities we live in.

Kirtpal Kaur Aujla (Governor)

Kirtpal is a solicitor advising on commercial and contractual matters, and governance in the local government and health sectors with a special interest in health and social care, education and leisure. Advises on alternative structures for the delivery of public services. Previously community governor at an inner-city primary school and varied experience in supporting community initiatives. Kirtpal is also the Link Governor for Pupil Premium, she has a special interest in supporting the achievement of excellence for all children at Nishkam.

Satbachan Bahia (Parent Governor)

Satbachan is a Solicitor and currently works for the Solicitors Regulation Authority. She investigates complaints of misconduct against solicitors and those who work within the profession, leading to suitable disciplinary outcomes. 
 
Being a mother of two young children, Satbachan has an invested interest in supporting the Niskham schools as a linked safeguarding Governor. She has great enthusiasm and ambition to ensure that a virtue led ethos is embedded in all children to help them flourish as adults in a safe and protected environment. 

Stephanie Mclean (Parent Governor)

Stephanie is an experienced secondary school teacher with experience of middle leadership in both Food Science and PSCHE. Her background in Textiles and Food has enabled her to teach students about the important life skills to excel in the wider community. Stephanie is privileged to be apart of a team to support and fulfil the Nishkam vision of excellence.
