Inspection and Ofsted reports

“Nishkam School West London judged ‘Outstanding’ in every category"

Ofsted

Nishkam School West London is proud to have been judged ‘Outstanding’ across all five categories by Ofsted in its most recent inspection in September 2016.

Ofsted noted, “Exemplary leadership and management skills ensure that the school’s values are central to developing pupils’ learning and mind-set. The school’s vision to ‘offer excellence… and inspire children to learn’ pervades the school. As a result, pupils are motivated and have high aspirations…. Pupils achieve outcomes that are significantly above average in the national tests.”

The Isleworth, London, based school’s Headteacher, Ms Funmi Alder said, “We’re absolutely thrilled because Ofsted have recognised that our hard work is inspiring children to excel academically and spiritually. We are indebted to all our staff, past and present, in all of their dedication since the school has opened in 2013. I would also like to say a big thank you of course, to our wonderful pupils and parents for working towards this goal together.”

Writing about the school’s leadership and management, Ofsted commented that “The national and local governing body are energetic and forward-looking…. Leaders, including governors, have created a unique culture which inspires pupils to exceed expectations regardless of their starting point.”

Mr Terry Green, Chair of Directors of Nishkam School Trust commented, “This result is an important staging post for the school as it now becomes the third Nishkam School to be graded by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’. It will form a wonderful platform for the school community as we prepare to move into our permanent new building on Syon Lane ready for September 2018.  As planned, the number of available places will be significantly increased to meet the expected high demand for places as we enrol students  at the beginning of the secondary element of our all-through school.

Dr. Brinder Singh Mahon, Chief Executive of Nishkam School Trust and Chair of the Local Governing Body added,” We are very grateful for the support of the Department for Education and Educating Funding Agency in giving us this opportunity and responsibility to make a difference for pupils in our schools. The ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspection outcome is a foundation step on which we will need to build further for continuing educational excellence centred on nurturing human virtue in a unique multi-faith approach.”
