Update 31st December 2020
Following the government announcement on Wednesday 30th December, all schools in Hounslow are now subject to the contingency framework for education due to an unprecedented increase in local infection rates. This means that Nishkam School West London will be closed for face-to-face teaching from 4th January to 18th January (subject to government review). The school will remain open from 5th January for vulnerable children and children of critical workers.
During this deferred start to the term, we will move to remote education. Please ensure that all pupils are able to access Show My Homework & Microsoft Teams where staff will provide further information about remote learning and teaching. If you are facing any challenges in accessing devices for your children, please contact the school at enquiries.nswl@nishkamschools.org

Update: Tuesday 12th May 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
I am sure you will have heard the Prime Minister’s speech on Sunday 10 May 2020, in which it was announced that a phased return to school could begin from as early as 1st June for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6. No indication of any set date for a school return was given for any of our relevant secondary phase year groups, so it seems likely, although not guaranteed, that the current set-up will continue to be in place for the rest of the summer term.
As further details of these plans are sent to us by the Department for Education from today onwards, the school’s Senior Leadership Team will be meeting to discuss all aspects of re-opening in consultation with other Nishkam School Trust leaders, local head teachers and national organisations. Please bear with us while we put our plans in place and be assured that we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring a safe re-opening for your children and our staff when the moment comes. As soon as plans are finalised, we will let you know.
Thank you for your on-going support of your child’s education and the school.
Yours sincerely,
Tom Cragg, Principal, Nishkam School West London

Update: Friday 17th April 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
We hope you and your families are all safe and well. As we are sure you will have heard based on the announcement from the Foreign Secretary on the 16 April 2020, the country will remain in lockdown for at least a further 3 weeks, so until we communicate otherwise, the school will stay closed for the majority of pupils and remain open for the children of critical workers. Our teachers will continue to set online learning. Thank you for your ongoing support through these difficult times.
Kind regards
Mr Cragg

Coronavirus Update: 25 March 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
Please see the latest guidance from the DfE dated 24 March 2020, detailing how you can help to support the implementation of social distancing at our school:
- Please do not visit the school if you are displaying any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19)or send your child into school if they are displaying any symptoms – follow the self-isolation guidelines from the government https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection
- If you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home, or your condition gets worse, or your symptoms do not get better after 7 days, then use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service. If you do not have internet access, call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999
- Consider how your child is travelling to and from school – try to reduce any unnecessary travel on coaches, buses or public transport
- Please do not gather together in groups on or around the site.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping to keep our pupils and staff as safe as possible at this time.
Kind regards
