It is our pleasure to extend a very warm welcome to you and we hope that you will find all the necessary information that you require about our school and our unique approach to education. The High School opened in September 2012 and we have now reached the stage in our development where we have 550 pupils in years 7-11. Our sixth form largely comprises our own students, though we do also benefit from students joining our sixth form from other schools. In total, therefore, we have approximately 660 pupils that benefit from our virtues-led approach to education that nurtures both the minds and hearts of our pupils.
Wishing our Christian students and families a very happy easter! Easter celebrates Jesus rising from the dead, three days after he was executed by crucifixion. Christians remember Jesus's suffering and death on the cross, and believe that Jesus sacrificed his life for humankind. Jesus asked God to forgive those who were torturing him. Christians believe that, through his resurrection, Jesus overcame death and sin. Easter is representative of rebirth, renewal and starting afresh.
On Monday 11th March, students from Nishkam High School were invited to perform at the Birmingham Commonwealth Day Service and Birmingham Commonwealth Day Dinner. This is an annual event that is held to celebrate the Commonwealth of Nations and highlights the association of 54 countries across the world and their commitment in promoting human rights, democracy, the rule of law and equality. There were representatives from around the Commonwealth at both events. The Choir performed When You Believe from the Prince of Egypt for the service in the morning, and our Fusion Band performed their own pieces in the evening for the dinner. Our students were able to demonstrate Nishkam's virtues throughout the service; especially those of enthusiasm, excellence, respect and peacefulness.
Wishing all of our Muslim pupils, staff and families a very happy Ramadan! During the month of Ramadan, Muslims won't eat or drink during the hours of daylight. This is called fasting. Ramadan remembers the month the Qur'an (the Muslim holy book) was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. Muslims try to give up bad habits during Ramadan. It is a time for prayer and good deeds. They will try to spend time with family and friends and help people in need. Many Muslims will attempt to read the whole of the Qur'an at least once during Ramadan. They will also attend special services in Mosques during which the Qur'an is read.
Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers and carers who make every day special! Pupils celebrated honouring the mother of the family as well as motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. A mother's love is comparable to the love of God. Mothers are wise leaders in our lives, who nurture, inspire, and encourage us to the best versions of ourselves.

Today we celebrate the strength, wisdom and faith of women, both in present day and throughout history. Let us use this as an opportunity to show our gratitude to the women in our life and to reflect on the qualities and virtues we are inspired by in the women we admire. https://t.co/Ps1Ar5Cwsj
Today we celebrate a passion for reading. It helps fuel imagination, and creativity. Let us reflect on the virtue of creativity to discover new ideas through reading! ‘It is what you read when you don’t have to that determines what you will be when you can’t help it’. The next 40 days are a time of introspection & spiritual growth for Christians. Christian’s reflect, repent, & renew their faith, mirroring Jesus Christ's 40 days in the desert. From fasting to prayer and acts of charity, Christian’s seek to deepen their connection with God. https://t.co/OfaBmwOBB4
